What About Missed Opportunities?

What opportunities have you missed today?

 

Fellow authors, Far too often, it is the "opportunity missed," not the action taken, that dramatically affects the outcome of our pursuits. I do not wish to overstate this but there is one opportunity I will focus upon today.

 

Some time ago, I sent a message (likely not read by many) that suggested creating your self-named group, that would provide the following:

 

• A focal point for you to invite friends, family, strangers, in-laws, outlaws, and others to learn about your work and invite yet others.
• A place to announce your upcoming books. (along with other Village venues)
• Build a following
• More. Be creative.
• Send focused invitations to others to join.

Finally, if you are not blogging, and syndicating your blog in syndicators like Feedburner (and others), you are missing another opportunity to promote yourself and your work.

 

While we are necessarily focused, and consumed by our need to simply survive while living the best lives we can, do whatever you can to make your dreams realities.
