One fine evening I was having a nice chat with one of my friends. Holding the coffee mug, we were enjoying the scenic beauty. The blowing breeze was tempting us to sit back and enjoy the divine bliss. We were completely absorbed in the calmness surrounding the place and I seized this opportunity to close my eyes and meditate.

My eyes opened to the view of one of the most admired Wonder ever built in the world. I am talking about the Victoria Memorial - one of the finest palatial building ever built by humans. This Great Victoria Memorial  is dedicated to Victoria- The Queen of United Kingdom and the Empress of India before independence.

“Unbelievable”, exclaimed my friend.” Building something of this magnitude must have required huge labour,  manpower and money.”

“Nothing can match the beauty of this palace. Even if you try to replicate this monument, you cant create the same magic again”.

Standing up he asked me, “If I give you $100 Million, can you create another Victoria Memorial for me. I bet you cant”

I thought for a while and asked him, “Why do you want me to create another Victorial Memorial when it’s already in front of you?  If this monument inspires you to the core so much that you cant resist the urge to create something as splendid as this palace, then its time for you to ask yourself another question.”

“Why is it that out of all the buildings in this vicinity, it is only Victoria Memorial that catched your attention, made you forget the rest?”

Adding to this question, I told him, “I will give you $100 Million if you can answer my question right now”

“Because this building is huge, has beautiful gardens, colorful fountains and lakes plus it is made of white marble which is unlike all the buildings surrounding it”, he answered.

“Is this your final answer?”, I asked.

“Yes”, he replied

“Great, so I give you the white marbles, space for the gardens and lakes, and your $100 Million. Go ahead and create another Victoria Memorial for me.”

“Thats not possible”, he answered. “How can I repeat this magic again. I cant do it. I quit”

Smiling at him I said, “You understand now, why there is only one Victorial Memorial in this world? What seems impossible to you is already made possile and thats why this is still standing tall in front of you built 100 years ago.And still you say you cant?. “I was bound to incur a loss had I given you my $100 Million. So by now you must have understood that it’s not the white marbles, nor the lakes which is important to create this magic.”

“Then what do you think we need?”, he asked

“Its the courage to think big, the desire to conquer everyone’s imagination and the determination of not quitting until death is what that made this monument what it is now. If you have the same courage, same desire and the determination, you could end up recreating History”

Hearing this my friend was speechless. He was not expecting such an answer, rather it seemed he was not prepared for it.

I smiled at him and said, “Don’t lose heart. Come with me, I want to tell you something. “

Holding his hand I took him to the park inside the Victoria premises.

We sat on the grass.

I started, “You see, we all have the power to create. God has gifted us with this wonderful tool, but it remains hidden from most of us. Those who realise it become a part of History with their works remembered by all and they are the ones who inspire the bravehearted to create the same magic or even greater. Those who fail to realise it either follow the footsteps of their heroes or they remain unaware of this wonderful tool throughout their life.”

“You seem to know a lot about all this. How come?”, he asked

“Its because I keep thinking about my actions, introspect and keep myself under check. If you do the same, you will be aware of your surroundings and at the same time you will be able to connect with yourself better”, I replied

Listening to this he got confused and asked, “So what do you think I should do to achieve all this you just said?”

I replied, “ It is the fear of losing which is your enemy, which stops you to create something of this magnitude. Those who have no fear of losing, those who know that defeats and struggles are the only way to reach the top, are the ones who dare to make a difference to the society and the world at large.”
