The subject of prophecy has been long overlooked by most. There are so many views that people tend to ignore it completely. However, this should not be the case if we really want to know what is on the horizon. Jesus had many things to say concerning end times.

Unfortunately, His words have been greatly misinterpreted. Matthew 24 is a good example of this fact. Matthew 24 was meant to lead Jesus' followers to Isaiah 13. Jesus was quoting from this book when He spoke about end times and how they would play out.

Sadly, the Church seems to have missed this all important message. They seem to think Jesus was giving new information concerning end times. He was only verifying what was already written by Isaiah. The sun, moon and stars going dark is a direct quote from Isaiah 13 which describes the DAY OF THE LORD.

This is when Jesus returns. That is why it is called the day of the Lord. Jesus called the darknening of the heavens the sign of the Son of Man. This darknening will last three days just prior to His return and the sending of the angels out to gather the elect.
