A TRIBUTE TO TAGORE

The 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore, took off in great swing throughout the world today.  Tagore was an icon of knowledge and wisdom.During his brief stay in England, Tagore attempted to study law. But after a brief stint there he returned to India and pursued a career as a writer, playwright, poet, philosopher and educator.  He began translating his selection of poems 'GITANJALI' (penned in his mother tongue Bengali) into English.  He made the…See More

SOME PHILOSOPHICAL THOUGHTS.....Today being my birthday I wish to share a few thoughts with my dear friends :1) It is not enough to be BUSY, but BE-EASY.  Easy at work without tension, easy with others in approach.  Easy with oneself for inner peace.2) The fragrance of flowers spreads in the direction of the wind, but the goodness of a person spreads in all directions.3) When we build a house every brick counts, when we build our character every thought counts.  Feed your mind with positive…See More

STEVE JOBS

Apple computers weaved magic all over the world and its magician , Steve Jobs, became the apple of miilions of peoples' eyes on this planet.  His contribution to mankind has been the greatest in recent times.  In the 1970s, Jobs took leave from work (he used to work as a technician at video games manfacturer Atari) and spent seven months wandering across the length and breadth of India seeking spiritual enlightenment.  After seven long months in India, Jobs returned to his native country,…See More

DEDICATED TO MY AMAZING FATHER

hello friends,It has been a pretty long time since I last touched base with my IFOGO friends.  I lost my dear father last week and his demise has left me shocked.  My father was a personification of courage, humility, nobility and intelligence.  My dear friends, my father was a great source of inspiration for me.  He was an excellent orator - his powerful speeches used to leave the huge masses spellbound.  He extended his helping hand to each and everyone who knocked his door for help.  People…See More

TAKI

Last Sunday, that is on January 16 an excursion was organised by my school for all the teachers.  The excursion was to a place called Taki.  After a three hour long bus ride, we reached the lovely village situated on the banks of the river Ichamati.  Green paddy fields greeted our eyes.  Giant size marigolds, sunflowers and roses were a treat for the eyes.  After a quick breakfast, we headed for the river to take a ride in the country boats. The golden rays of the winter sun proved a soothing…See More
