Earning money while you write?

I have come to a crossroad where these two important factors hinder each other. I presume that I should take a year off from writting and focus my attention to selling books. I have learned from many great authors on this site about how they did it. Unfortunately, I still want to write full-time, I can't afford a publicist or attract any agents to help me out.My focus was never on marketing, I am too wrapped up in the writting, it seems difficult to let go of something I really love. I must…See More

Book Review/ City of Gardens: The Other Side of the Fence

Street people in every city in the world consist of the drug addicted, the mentally ill, the homeless, the lost people of our society. I previously held a pious, self-righteous, negative view of these people. I avoided them on the street, was fearful to make eye-contact. Patrick gave me knowledge, statistics, facts and a new awareness, where before I was ignorant. The "other side." All topics have two sides. Patrick has himself walked both sides.....read his book, "The Peaceful Warrior: Memoirs…See More

IP Book Reviewers

The Peaceful Warrior: Memoirs of a Damaged Mind and Soul is not a conventional read. Neither is the author. Patrick J. Schnerch is an advocate for the mentally ill in his native Canada and the author of the crime novel, 'Adrian.' He is also living with bipolar disorder and alcoholism. In his memoir, Schnerch opens the door to his life and beacons the reader to view his struggle in the raw. It is a opportunity to see mental illness from the inside that most people, outside… Continue

Hi Bill

I hoped that my approve decision came through. It seems that something happened. Please send another invite if it did not work. I written about mental illness, addiction and homelessness for the past 16 years. I also have had my share of this as well. I find your stories exceptionally enlightening and positive. There must have been something in your heart to get you to where you are today.I know that you are an inspiration to others, especially the street community. You have done so much for yourself. For Christmas this year, give yourself a big pat on the back

Sincerely

Patrick

You're welcome. Approve me and we'll be hooked up. You can read all about the homeless at my blog, and the post I put up a few minutes ago might well be something you need to read. Go to this link: http://atmyfriendsplace.com/waiting-for-christmas

You can read all you want about my writing by clicking the MY NOVELS section of my website and the MY STORY heading will give you the story of when I was homeless and what it took for me to make it back. That's why I now wear a badge, which you can see if you go to my profile and click PHOTOS. I just added it, but that's what I wear now whenever I leave the house.

We live in very hypocritical times. I know what you are talking about. People like to pretend they don't think about what they do think about and don't do what they do. Everyone seems to want to be known as a good, God fearing person.
