The cost of self-publishing can be high so what are the other options for producing a quality book? There are other options such as publishing through Amazon, perhaps only as an e-book, or maybe…Continue

Brief Biography (Authors Required - Others, optional)
After half a lifetime of reading through every available library, I put pen to paper for the first time in January 2010 with the intention of writing a story - which became a book, "Forged in the Jungles of Burma". Two years later, I have published three novels including "Assassin's Trap" and the newly released e-book "Enemy by Association".

Forged in the Jungles of Burma
This novel is an adventure/romantic suspense. A canadian, traveling to Singapore, becomes involved in a political situation in Myanmar/Burma and finds herself imprisoned by the cruel military junta in power there. In prison she meets up with a British spy and together they must find a way out of prison and out of Burma, all the while pursued by soldiers, spies and even a Burmese python.

My second novel "Assassin's Trap" was released in January 2012. It continues the tale John and Caroline Brock, now living in London and working for MI-5. Trapped by a past that refuses to forgive, John Brock must fight to protect his beloved wife. Can he succeed or will the assassin's trap end it all?

"Enemy by Association" has been published as an e-book through Kindle (Amazon). It tells the story of disgraced FBI agent Ethan Lange. Accused of colluding with terrorists, he has nowhere to turn, no one to trust, until Sarah Maier needs his help. When Ethan saves Sarah and her two little sons, he binds himself to them, entwining their fate with his...

Book Awards

In searching for new ways to promote my books, I recently submitted my second novel "Assassin's Trap" for the Independent Publisher Book awards. It was an odd experience and I was only slightly more informed as to the purpose of the awards by the end of the submission as at the beginning. I'm wondering if there are other awards and contests that are open to self-published authors. I think that the most unique part of the experience was the fact that I spent more money to enter the contest…

Writer's Block

Posted on March 20, 2012 at 1:05pm 0 Comments

Over the past few weeks, I've experienced a bout of writer's block combined with geographical block. With the plot for my next novel firmly planted in my head, I simply couldn't make the ideas flow. So I added a new character and plot line and forged ahead. In the end, it was the vastness of China's northwest blocked me at every turn. I received the following advice: keep on writing every day even if only to write "I have writer's block. I have writer's block." Soon the ideas started flowing…
