With Eyes from Both Sides, by Thelma Wright, as told to and written by C. Alease

The success of VH1's "Mob Wives" has propelled great interest in the 'woman behind the man' scenario in the gangster world. Former boss lady, Thelma Wright, with her poignantly, introspective release of "With Eyes From Both Sides - Living My Life In and Out of the Game" as told to and written by C. Alease, invites us not only into her world, but into her mind, her heart and her soul. The woman, quietly heralded by some as the Black Griselda Blanco, minus the murder, was on the lead track of the…See More

I don't remember anything about being a baby, or how it must have felt inside when I took my first step, said my first word, or got my first "booboo." All I can do is feel my way vicariously through the absolute pride and joy in my mother's eyes; that twinkle in them when she reminisces about how my grandfather would stand a few steps away from the top of the landing of the stairs to the kitchen…

Fortitude of the Human Spirit or "What Blizzard?"

Posted on December 19, 2009 at 8:30pm 0 Comments

The weather report for Philadelphia, PA on December 12th promised a partly sunny sky, brisk and chilly. Whew, I thought. With all the rain going on of late, I'm glad that we'll have a good day for the booksigning.

By December 14th, the long range forecast still promised a bit of sun, turning to clouds for the 19th. All was going to be right for the 19th, my booksigning. The 19th was when I was going to have my first booksigning for "The Gatekeeper, a Novel by C.… Continue

Thanks for watching the video! I don't have an agent. I called my local Borders Bookstore and asked the manager if I could host a book signing, and she said YES. All I said was that I'm a local author and CrossBooks Publishing just released my new book. The manager agreed to allow me to host the book signing even though my book wasn't in their computer yet. It's still not online at Borders.com, but she downloaded everything so that it showed up in their local computer database. My publisher has channel distribution of my book, so I guess that's how she was able to download the info she needed. Anyway, surprisingly, it was very simple, and the book signing went very well. You can see pictures from the book signing on my website or facebook fan page if you're interested. You never know what will happen when you call, so give it a try and perhaps your local Borders will agree as well. Let me know what happens.
