- The very talented and well-known author, Jack London, was Boyd’s distant cousin. Boyd Thomas London was born on November 6, 1974, in Beaver, Utah. Boyd’s dad, Roy London, has a B.S. degree in Forestry from the University of California, Berkley. Boyd’s mom, Gerri, has a B.A. degree from Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, California and is certified as a teacher. Roy London was employed by the Forest Service at Twin Falls, Idaho, where Boyd attended Kindergarten. Roy was then transferred to the small town of Fairfield, Idaho, where his family still resides. Boyd attended school at Fairfield, Idaho through the eighth grade. He then attended and graduated from Wood River High School in Hailey, Idaho, with a 3.96 GPA, in June of 1993. During his high school years, Boyd was a member of the National Honor Society, student of the month, and was given awards for outstanding academic achievement in English, History, Economics, and Spanish. He was also awarded the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. Boyd then joined the United States Air Force, where he served as a Munitions Systems Specialist for four years, primarily working on missiles and precision-guided bombs. Boyd was a distinguished Honor Graduate from his weapon’s school at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado, and was also given an award by his commander for being the number one student in his schooling. Boyd was stationed primarily at Elmendorf AFB Anchorage, Alaska. During his time of service, he took part in an exercise testing the readiness of South Korean forces at Osan AFB, South Korea, and also spent four months in Saudi Arabia, helping to support Operation Southern Watch. During his four years of service in the Air Force, Boyd was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the prestigious Air Force Achievement Medal. After completing his four year term of service, Boyd remained in Alaska and then completed his first two years of college at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, with a 3.95 GPA. During his studies at the University of Alaska, Boyd was awarded the Mable Crawford Memorial Scholarship, was recognized by the Chancellor for four semesters as being a distinguished Chancellor’s Scholar, was awarded by Golden Key National Honor Society as being one of the top students in his sophomore class, and Boyd received the multiple year award from the National Dean’s List, an honor given to only one half of one percent of our nation’s college students. Boyd is attending Boise State University in Idaho where he is finishing his BBA degree in marketing. Boise State University has awarded Boyd the William H. & Gladys E. Langroise Undergraduate Business scholarship, the John & Lois Elorriaga Business scholarship, and has inducted Boyd into the Golden Key National Honor Society. Boyd’s hobbies and enjoyed activities include flying radio controlled airplanes, bodybuilding, and teaching Sunday school classes to children at his church. Boyd competed in the 1997 Anchorage Bodybuilding Championships, placing 5th, and he was featured in the August 1998 edition of Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Magazine. Creeton is Boyd’s first novel. Boyd wrote Creeton on behalf of the September 11 first year remembrance. On September 11, 2001, the world was awakened to the brutality of evil. Creeton is a very powerful story that instills the virtue of worldwide peace in the reader’s mind, and Boyd hopes and dreams for the people of Earth to one day live in total peace. His second novel shows the pain and hurt caused by a DUI accident, as a young man is hit by a drunk driver and is left in a coma, in his novel Dream Wanderer.

Many Idaho newspapers are printing articles about Boyd and his books. The Times-News newspaper printed a story, and the Twin Falls, Idaho Public Library saw the article and purchased multiple copies of Boyd’s books for the library. Jack London would be happy.

Many adult readers have read and enjoyed Boyd’s books. However, both books contain great stories for teenagers. His book, Creeton, makes a statement of hoping and dreaming for peace on Earth, and Dream Wanderer shows the pain and hurt caused by a DUI accident. They were both written while Boyd was recovering from back injuries resulting from a bad car accident in which the other driver fell asleep and rammed into the back of his car. Alcohol may have been involved. Many people, sadly including many young people, are injured and killed each year when driving while intoxicated.
Dream Wanderer and Creeton were at the Frankfurt Book Fair, October 6-10th, in Germany.
Boyd sent a copy of Creeton to the movie star Meg Ryan, who read his book. She wrote that she hoped it would enlighten many of the people in the world. Multitudes of people were very saddened and upset after the terrorists’ attacks on September 11.

Finding Happiness

In his autobiography, Boyd Thomas London tells the story of his life and his reasons for finding happiness no matter what he has faced. He makes known what it was like to be in the U.S. military and how he found contentment during his four years of service in the United States Air Force, which took him to Saudi Arabia. While in Saudi Arabia, he worked six days a week in one hundred twenty degree heat. He tells about living in Alaska and facing the harsh, cold winters. He describes the beauty of Alaska. He flew planes there, and he portrays how he faced many severe back injuries from a car accident that led to him becoming a published author of three books, while living in serene Idaho. Boyd has learned how to find happiness and to be hopeful in all circumstances.
